The Panamerican Federation of Associations for Medical Education FEPAFEM – PAFAMS it’s an international, private, non governmental, and non for profit organization. It was created on 1962.  It is dedicated to promote the advancement of medical education and biomedical sciences in the Americas and the Caribbean.

Its integrated by 13 National Associations of Medical Schools and 9 individually affiliated.  We have more than 500 medical schools located in the Americas.

IHI Open School for Health Professions made the launch of their Spanish and Portuguese courses

The Institute for Health Care Improvement - IHI and its IHI Open School for Health Professions made the launch of their translated to Spanish and Portuguese courses last November 21st 2011.  They made a teleconference with the participation of Enrique Ruelas, Pedro Delgado and Ezequiel García Elorrio. 
The mission of IHI Open School its to develop patient's quality and safety skills of the next generation of health professionals around the world, and they offered several courses por professional improvement.

LACCME

The Panamerican Federation of Associations of Medical Schools FEPAFEM-FEPAFEM - PAFAMS made the decision to accept the challenge of harmonizing Continual Medical Education – CME and Continual Professional Development - CPD initiatives across Latin America, working in collaboration with the national professional medical associations, governments and academic institutions through the creation of the Latin American Council for Continuing Medical Education - LACCME, as a crucial area of its International Accreditation Program.

IAI

Academic institutions seek for an international accreditation to a qualified institution. FEPAFEM – PAFAMS made the decision to accept the challenge for the creation of an International Accreditation Initiative on Medical Education - IAI, working in collaboration with the national Associations, Governmental Institutions and other academic institutions sharing common values. This new organization basically will align itself with the “International Standards for Basic Medical Education” released by the World Federation for Medical Education - WFME for Quality Improvement.
